Myth! The color of your vehicle has no factor in your auto insurance cost. The price of your auto policy is based on many factors, such as, make, model, body type, and age of the vehicle, as well as the vehicles worth, cost to repair, and overall safety record, but the color of the vehicle has no factor in the price.
Fact! You have a thing called a credit-based insurance score which is derived from your credit history. Studies suggest, and have proven, that how a person manages his or her financial affairs, is a good predictor of how likely they are to file an insurance claim. When quoting your insurance, our companies do what is called a 'soft pull' and your credit is not effected.
Fact! BUT only if you have comprehensive and collision coverage on your policy.
Myth! Mississippi only requires you to have minimum of 25/50/25 coverage. However, we recommend a minimum of 100/300/100 and that is what each of us carry on our own personal autos. The more coverage you have, the likelihood of having to pay out-of-pocket for losses in an accident lessens.
Myth! This is a question we get asked quite often. Insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver. That means that if someone else drives your car and is in an accident, it would be filed on your insurance.
