JA of Meridian - Teacher Mini-Grants
Junior Auxiliary of Meridian is pleased to announce the availability of Mini-Grants for Teachers for the 2015-2016 school year. As a nonprofit organization with an emphasis on projects that serve children and teens, Junior Auxiliary recognizes the important work of teachers in the lives of children and teens in our community. This longtime Junior Auxiliary project provides grants of up to $1,500 for teachers, counselors, and librarians to implement innovative and creative projects within the classroom setting. During the 2014-2015 school year, 11 grants were awarded to teachers in the Meridian and Lauderdale county area totaling approximately $12,000. Junior Auxiliary looks forward to continuing this annual grant program during the 2015-2016 school year.
Grant applications for the 2015-2016 school year are available beginning September 1, 2015
. The deadline
to submit applications will be October 1, 2015
. Grants will be judged by an independent panel of qualified judges from outside of Lauderdale County using a rubric. The Mini-Grant applications will be rated on several criteria including the ease of implementation, instructional value, creativity, and the goals and anticipated educational outcomes of the project.

The Junior Auxiliary Mini-Grants website includes an overview of the grant process, detailed instructions for applying for grants, an electronic version of the grant application, and a copy of the rubric that will be used to evaluate grant applications.
